Airfield Restrictions

A message from the Tweed Shire Council

Please be advised that the Murwillumbah Airfield is open but use by fixed wing aircraft is not recommended.  Users unfamiliar with the airfield and the current local conditions should avoid all fixed wing operations until further notice.

The runway surface is undamaged but there are deep ruts and unstable ground to the sides of the runway in the runway strip area and taxiways.  These areas should be avoided until Council can arrange for repairs and allow the ground to dry out.  The parking areas and sides of the runway strip are soft and wet.

Repairs are expected to occur in the next few days and a further notice will be issued when the repairs are complete
