Murwillumbah Aero Club

Our Club

Murwillumbah Aero Club is located at Bob Whittle Airfield, Murwillumbah, NSW.  The club has 2-storey clubhouse and a Cessna 172M hangered at the airfield for the shared use of members.

There are approximately 50 club members, who are passionate aviators of all levels.

‘Club Day’ is the 1st Sunday of each month. All welcome. Flying is normally followed by a BBQ and a Cuppa.

History of MAC

The Murwillumbah Aero Club was formed in 1946, with one of the founders being Bob Whittle, after whom the airfield is now named. (more to come…)

About YMUR

Murwillumbah Airfield (YMUR) is a grass-on-shale airfield of approximately 800m length with runway aligned North/South (36 / 18), elevation 18ft.  The airfield is used for a variety of GA operations, including agricultural, and operates in ‘Class G’ airspace in proximity to the Gold Coast Airport.  The airfield is operated by the Tweed Council.
